This small bungalow complex, run by the owner family in person, enjoys a fabulous position very close to the long, sandy beach expanding from Vieste towards Mattinata.

The few holiday apartments are located on a private garden plot (8000 sq.m!) with palms, pines, figs, oleanders and other Mediterranean plants, a small playground for children, a small bar and a private vegetable cultivation. There are also a car park and a washing machine (for a fee) available  The property ranges straightly up to the beach, in between there is only the beach promenade. The guests are allowed to make use of the fruits and vegetables of the owner's cultivation, as well as of the excellent olive oil, red and white wine. The owner family serves a typical, local meal - on request. There is even a pizza oven. A grocery store as well as various restaurants are within walking distance.

The property is located on the same altitude as the in-house beach section (with shade-giving trees on the back a private gateway, which is kept clean but not overcrowded by the tourists. Directly on the beach there is a beach bar where you can rent deckchairs and sunshades. The beach is wide, fine-sandy and flat - so it is also suitable for children; the water is clean and clear; the rocky coast, perfect for diving and snorkelling, starts about 250 m southerly. The beach offers an amazing view over Vieste (about 3 km away).

There are 2 sizes between 12 (mostly renewed) detached and semi-detached houses:

Bungalows for up to 4 people: Veranda, kitchen-diner with a new kitchen unit (***), 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with shower cubicle; air conditioning.

3 small apartments for up to 2+1 people: one-room apartment with a L-shaped kitchenette and bathroom; an additional bed on request.

Although the furniture is rather simple, it is still very clean and well-kept. There are fly screens in all of the windows.  In winter there are heaters available.

New since 2014: Villa Mare provides its guests with 2 loungers and a sunshade per apartment - without extra charge!
